Simon is a Family Enterprise Consultant and CEO and founder of Simon Bloom Consultancy. He works with family enterprises to help multi-generational families with the organisational, relational and personal aspects of their lives. From both personal and professional experience, Simon understands the complex nature of family enterprises and the challenges facing the different generations within them.
Simon originally trained as a teacher and social worker, before his MSc in Organisational Psychology and qualification as an accredited Psychotherapist. He is currently studying for his PhD in Neuroscience at King’s College, London and divides his time between the UK, Europe, the USA and Israel; working with individual clients, family offices, Governmental and Non-Governmental Organisations and Charities. Alongside this, he is CEO of Reflections Therapy Services; bespoke individual, group and family psychotherapy clinic which is based in London.
Simon has delivered insightful speaking programs at a variety of conferences and forums including the FT Family Office Forum, Institutional Investor Forums – European Family Office Symposium, London Business School and has lectured for a number of years at King’s College on dealing with addiction in organisations.
Simon has recently written his first book based on insight from his work with family enterprises. ‘Passing The Buck – How To Avoid the 3rd Generation Wealth Trap’. The book explores issues facing the family office and skills and strategies to ensure enterprises thrive beyond the 3rd generation.
Simon is the 3rd generation of his family to run and own his own business. This together with his professional experience and training allows him to bring a unique perspective to the challenges facing families of complex wealth.
Married with three children, in his spare time Simon enjoys a variety of leisure pursuits including boxing, tai chi, diving and reading.
Faye is SBC's first point of contact. She has effectively presented the face of SBC, working in close coordination with Simon and the rest of the team, she acts as the pillar of the company.
Faye organises, schedules and manages Simon's extensive diary to expert level and helps with the smooth running of the office.
Faye worked previously, as a secretary in the healthcare sector where she gained invaluable experience in client confidentiality. She has great emotional intelligence and has always worked in client facing roles.
Faye completed an executive PA course with Pitman training back in 2013 and is trained on all Microsoft office packages to expert level as well as speed writing and typing. Faye is keen to start a project management course soon and is looking forward to taking on some of the projects within SBC.
Faye is also a fully qualified hairdresser and enjoys transforming her friends and family in her spare time – she’s particularly skilled in an ‘up-do’. She enjoys travelling, keeping fit and socialising with friends.
Aarti is an experienced marketer and has over ten years of experience within creative marketing consultancies and is responsible for SBC’s marketing and brand development. Aarti has a depth of experience in delivering lead generation campaigns using a mix of marketing activity.
Aarti has worked previously, at a number of leading marketing and PR consultancies including LEWIS PR, Midas PR, Hill & Knowlton and Grey.
Outside of the office Aarti enjoys travelling, honing her photography skills and experimenting in the kitchen, as well as spending quality ‘family’ time with her two daughters and husband.
SBC works with a number of local, City and West End associates in order to provide further services such as accountancy, law and professional training courses.
